BELGRADE / NOVI SAD

Breakfast. Walking tour in Belgrade from the Republic Square along the main pedestrian street (“Knez Mihaylova”) to Kalemegdan Park and the Belgrade Fortress with its picturesque panorama to the confluence of Sava and Danube rivers. In the afternoon optional tour to Novi Sad. Novi Sad is the second largest city in Serbia, known as the Serbian Athens for its great role in the Revival of the Serbian people – here is the seat of some of the most important Serbian cultural institutions, including Matica Srpska. Here, on the shore of Danube River, you can witness one of the most impressive fortresses in Europe – Petrovaradin, called “Gibraltar on Danube” – masterpiece of the fortification construction of the 18th century. Return to Belgrade in the evening. Overnight in Belgrade.

Breakfast. Departure for Bulgaria. Arrival in Sofia in the afternoon. Guided sightseeing tour of the city centre, including visit to Alexander Nevski Cathedral - one of the largest Eastern Orthodox cathedrals in Europe, as well as one of Sofia’s symbols and a primary tourist attraction; St. George Rotunda, St. Sophia Church, built by the Roman Emperor Justinian in the 6th century, National Theatre, former Royal Palace, Presidency, etc. Accommodation at hotel. Optional dinner at a traditional restaurant with folklore music and dances. Overnight in Sofia.

SOFIA / RILA MONASTERY

Breakfast. A free day in Sofia or, optional tour to Rila Monastery - the most exquisite example of the monastery art and architecture in Bulgaria. Guided tour of the monastery complex. Visit to Nativity of the Virgin Church with its miracle icon of the Virgin and splendid gilded iconostasis, the old kitchen, Hrelyo’s Tower and many spectacular views from the mountain and the surrounding nature. Overnight in Sofia.

Breakfast. A free day in Sofia or, optional one day tour to Plovdiv – European capital of culture 2019. Sightseeing tour in the Old Town, including the Roman Ancient Theatre, which was build in the 1st century AD and is nowadays considered to be the largest surviving Roman construction in Bulgaria, visit to the Ethnographic Museum, Roman Stadium, St. Constantine and Helena Church, etc. Tour duration - approx. 8 hours.
